Trapped in the Dunya Event
A community event that specially focused on the youth. Addressing the mindset of chasing
pleasures and wealth as the objective of life. An ex-rapper, previously entangled in the
negative lifestyle of drugs, violence set out his life of change. He also showcased the life of
the companions of the Prophet (saw) as role models.
Carry Islam Not Knives
During a national media focus on gang violence and knife crime in the U. K.
U.M.A in collaboration with local masjids and youth activists organised a street khutbah.
Directly addressing young people in their local areas that carrying knives and the ‘gangsta’
mindset has destructive impacts. This is not reflective of the Islamic values and the Muslim
Youth have a noble responsibility of being ambassadors for Islam.
